The Transport Workers’ Unemployment Fund will merge with the Open Unemployment Fund A-kassa at the beginning of next year, which is why there will a break in benefit payments and eService at the turn of the year.

Systems will be updated during the break
Our systems are updated due to the merger. Therefore, we cannot process any applications or pay benefits at the turn of the year.
Applications can’t be sent via eService
When: eService will be closed on 23 of December 2022 in the afternoon and opened again as soon as possible, but on 2 of January at the latest.
Why: eService is closed to run the necessary updates to our systems.
We cannot pay benefits during the break
When: 28 of December 2022 – 2 of January 2023. The last payment before the end of the year will be made on 27.12.2022.
Why: Updates are run to our benefit payment system, and we cannot pay any benefits due to the updates.
Our customer service is closed
When: 23 of December 2022 starting from 12:00 pm. Our customer service will be exceptionally open on Monday 2 of January 2023 from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. From 3 of January onwards our customer service is open on weekdays from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm as usual.
Why: Our customer service is closed due to the simultaneous updates run in our benefits system.
An increase to the unemployment benefits
Kela confirmed the 2023’s national-pension index increase which will also move upwards the earnings-related unemployment allowance.
Restructuring protection model for over 55-year-olds
As a result of a law amendment that will enter into force in 2023, a new restructuring protection package for persons aged 55 or over will be implemented.
Open Unemployment Fund’s membership fee remains unchanged
The Open Unemployment Fund’s (A-kassa) membership fee will stay at 8 euros per month in 2023. This means that there will be no changes to the amount of the fee.
