A-kassa’s membership fee will remain at 8 euros per month next year, meaning there will be no change in the fee. In addition to unemployment security, the membership fee also includes the fund’s employment services.
The Financial Supervisory Authority has confirmed A-kassa’s membership fee for 2027 at 8 euros per month, or 96 euros per year, in accordance with the proposal of A-kassa’s Board of Directors.
A-kassa is a multidisciplinary unemployment fund open to all wage earners. You can join the fund either directly or through a trade union. Many trade unions insure their members against unemployment through A-kassa, in which case the trade union is responsible for collecting and remitting the membership fees.
A-kassa currently cooperates with twelve trade unions: Industrial Union, The Finnish Construction Trade Union, Finnish Transport Workers’ Union AKT, The Finnish Post and Logistics Union PAU, The Finnish Seafarers’ Union FSU, Trade Union for Theatre and Media Finland Teme, The Union of Journalists in Finland, Finnish Actors Union, The Finnish Musicians’ Union, Ay-toimihenkilöt, Finnish Food Workers’ Union SEL and Paper Union.
Employment services are also included in the membership fee
Membership in A-kassa provides security in case of unemployment or temporary layoff, as well as practical support in finding a new job.
The monthly membership fee of eight euros includes A-kassa’s employment services, which help members at different stages of their job search. These services include the AI-powered EmploymentWizard, which provides tools for job searching and identifying your skills, as well as a wide range of EmploymentWebinars.
The aim of the employment services is to make job searching easier and help members find a new job as quickly as possible.
