A-kassa’s and Barona’s cooperation producing results – personal service praised by members

Collaboration between A-kassa and working life company Barona helps increasingly many members find new direction in their working life. The first framework agreements are now in place, and new career paths have already been found. Barona’s tailor-made job search service is a part of a greater endeavour launched by A-kassa in early 2025 to offer practical and timely support for jobseeking.

 

Barona is much more than a traditional employment agency – it is the biggest recruitment company in Finland and a part of the Bravedo Group. Each year, about 30,000 people work or find employment via Barona in various industries, from logistics to IT and from construction to customer service. In addition to recruitment services, job opportunities are available, among others, in the company’s own logistics centre, engineering offices, tech companies and call centres which offer both full- and part-time work for varying life situations. And through various direct recruitments and projects, employment opportunities extend all the way to expert and management roles. Where necessary, Barona supports competence and career development with training programmes, language training and apprenticeships.

Barona aims to actively solve the matching problems occurring in Finnish working life, i.e. the difficulties in matching work and applicants. This is also evident in the service offered to A-kassa members: Barona’s recruiters personally contact potential applicants at an early stage and help jobseekers fine-tune their profiles, improving their employment chances significantly.

 

– By diligently updating their profiles and keeping an open mind for various opportunities, applicants are much more likely to find employment. We want to support them throughout their journey, says Service Director Arto Töyrä.

 

The personal approach has received praise from A-kassa’s members, too. Many have been pleasantly surprised by the direct calls. Calling is not simply about collecting information – it is also about listening, connecting and individual sparring.

 

– For us, it is important that members receive timely and personal support when they need it most. Barona’s expertise and ability to treat people as individuals have contributed to our member services significantly, says A-kassa’s Service Manager Elina Laine.
