The Government has decided on an additional index increase in social security benefits, which means that, for example, the amount of earnings-related allowance will increase between 1 August and 31 December 2022.
The basic unemployment allowance, the basic unemployment allowance increase, the amount of labour market subsidy, the labour market subsidy increase and child increase governed by the Under Security Act will be adjusted. As a result, the amount of earnings-related allowance will also increase, as will the amount of the job alternation allowance and the commuting and relocation allowance.
Benefits paid by the unemployment fund to increase
In practice, the increase in the basic unemployment allowance means that the amount of earnings-related allowance paid by the unemployment fund will also increase. The earnings-related allowance consists of a basic component equal to the basic unemployment allowance, the earnings-related component based on earnings and possible increase components.
In addition, the index adjustment will increase the amount of the job alternation allowance and commuting and relocating allowance, which the unemployment fund also pays to its members.
A-kassa will apply the increases automatically, so the members do not have to apply for them separately.
