If you transfer from another unemployment fund, the period of membership and employment accumulated at the previous fund will be accredited to you as you transfer to the Open Unemployment Fund. However, you must join within one month of resigning from the previous fund.

We are an unemployment fund for wage-earners. If you are a member of a fund for entrepreneurs and are moving into paid employment, you can, when you join our fund at the start of the paid employment, claim the allowance for entrepreneurs from us for a period of possible unemployment. When you fulfil the 26-week employment condition of an employee, this so-called post-protection period for entrepreneurs expires. This requires that you join within one month of resigning from the fund for entrepreneurs.
Are you a full-time entrepreneur? Read more here.
We are an unemployment fund for wage-earners. A family member of an entrepreneur, who does not own any part of the business, can insure him/herself in a wage earner’s unemployment fund in case of unemployment. You are deemed as a wage-earner.
Mere employment in a company owned by a family member is not deemed as entrepreneurship. We can pay you earnings-related allowance, because you are a wage-earner.
