Breaks in benefit payments and customer service at the turn of the year

The Unemployment Fund of Finnish Industrial Workers prepares for the upcoming merger, when Open Unemployment Fund or A-kassa starts its operations on 1 of January 2022. This means breaks in payments of benefits as well as opening hours of our customer service.

The new Open Unemployment Fund will start its operations on 1 of January 2022, when the Unemployment Fund of Finnish Industrial Workers, Unemployment Fund of the Construction Sector and Unemployment Fund Finka will merge.

As a member of the Unemployment Fund of Finnish Industrial Workers you will be automatically transferred to Open Unemployment Fund as an old member.

Breaks in benefit payments and eService at the turn of the year

Our systems are updated due to the merger of unemployment funds. Therefore, we cannot process any applications or pay benefits at the turn of the year.

Applications cannot be sent via eService

When: eService will be closed on 23 of December 2021 in the afternoon and opened again on 3 of January 2022 at the latest.

Why: eService is closed to run the necessary updates to our systems.

Note! Remember to send your application well before the break, if possible.

We cannot pay benefits during the break

When: 24 of December 2021 – 3 of January 2022.

Why: Additionally, updates are run to our benefit payment system, and we cannot pay any benefits due to the updates.

Our customer service is closed

When: 23 of December 2021 starting from 2:00 pm. We will open our customer service on Monday 3 of January 2022.

Why: Our customer service is closed due to the updates in our benefits system simultaneously.
