Council of the unemployment fund convened
Council of the unemployment fund convened on Wednesday 23.5.2018 in Helsinki.
The Council confirmed the last three annual reports and financial statements from 2017 of the Unemployment Fund of the Woodworkers, TEAM Unemployment Fund and Metalworkers’ Unemployment Fund. The unemployment funds merged into a new Unemployment Fund of the Finnish Industrial Workers at the beginning of this year.
The future was also glanced, when the Board of Directors gave a presentation about the strategy of the Unemployment Fund of Finnish Industrial Workers to the Council. The strategy will be used to plan operations and services of the new fund.
Head of Unemployment Fund Irene Niskanen and Account Manager Juha Vierimaa presented the fund’s current situation in their overview of topical issues. The merger had run smoothly early in the year as have the services of the members during the merger. The amounts of benefit recipients and other statistics from the spring were gone through. The Head of Unemployment Fund Irene Niskanen took the floor and reviewed possible changes in the fund’s operational environment for the upcoming years, as well as the impact of the activity model to our members.
At the same time, the Council of the Industrial Union assembled. The Council took a stand on the Finnish Government’s proposals, which have an effect to the employed and unemployed members. Read more about it here (in Finnish).
